About Us:
Called "a little building with a lot to offer," Open Space Arts is a community arts organization based in Reisterstown, MD. Open Space was founded in 1989 by Beth and Alden Phelps. We operate out of a little old house that was once an orphanage and is now a home for the arts. We perform at our outdoor stage behind our building, and in rented spaces in the winter. We are committed to the philosophy that art is for everyone, and we hope that our diverse offerings of classes, shows, events and workshops promote just that. It is our hope to strengthen the community through the arts.

Open Space Arts is a 501(c) 3 non profit organization and any donation to OSA is tax deductible. Make a donation today.
Our Mission Statement
We are artists, educators, parents, and community members who are dedicated to fostering a safe space where families can come together and create amazing art. We produce original and high quality art that functions both to build self-esteem for the participants and be genuinely thought-provoking for the audience. We pride ourselves on providing free or low-cost programming, so that art remains, as it should be, for everyone.
